Capital Ski and Ride

We share the chair together, whatever gear you wear to slide on snow. We slide because we want to get in touch with our inner-stoke while we ski, ride, carve, free heel, we love it all! We are not about the gear you wear. We are about camaraderie and fellowship and sharing what we know. We are here to nurture and encourage all Snowsliders, whether you are new to the snow or on the way to becoming an expert. We are about the adrenaline and endorphin inducing activities on snow. We are about sharing the chair and seeking fun in and out of the lift line the year round! Alas, we can't slide all year round but we will be here for you through the snowless months. We will try a Meetup at least once a month, while we wait for snow to return to the northern realms. If we can have fun and adventure on the slopes, we can have fun, adventure, camaraderie and fellowship off the slopes with people of like minds and shared experiences. Fair notice, this Meetup is an experimental adjunct to the Ski Club of Washington, DC (SCWDC) web presence. Any SCWDC event posted here will require a guest fee if you are not a SCWDC member.

Our next meeting:
48 Hour Film Project: Best of DC Screening and Socializing
Another film festival, but one in which some of us snowsliders actually submitted a film last year. We were part of Traveling Salesman Pictures (Alex Major, Director/Producer). We made a film, from start to finish, in 48 hours. All film crews incorporated the same prop, character, and phrase into their film but each film crew was randomly assigned a genre, from Sci-Fi, Musical, Comedy, etc. Read more
