There is a local office in Norristown and they have a few build projects in the surrounding areas. It's cool, take a day or more go work on building a house or volunteering for something else (they have some kind of a sale of stuff on some Saturdays). They build on Wed, Fri & Sat. I'm probably going to go do a Friday in the next month or so. Anyone else interested? They'll also work with larger groups if there is a group of people who would be interested. You may have to go through the "Love In Action" tour before going to a build site. That's just an intro video basically that tells you what Habitat is and isn't. To get a house, people have to put in ~ 200 hours of their own time on projects and they do have to buy the house - Habitat doesn't give away anything.
